The Little Red House, Mumbles

The Little Red House, Mumbles, Gower is is the ideal place for a staycation. From its elevated position, you can see the castle, the church and across Swansea Bay from the sitting room window. You will be within 5 minutes’ walk of the seafront and promenade and close to Mumbles’ bustling variety of shops, cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants.

Blow the cobwebs away on the coastal path, golf courses and cycle routes, explore the famous beaches in Gower’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or relax enjoying the local attractions our village has to offer.

The space
There is a spacious and comfortably furnished upstairs sitting room, with doors opening onto a balcony. To the front, there are views of the castle, Swansea Bay and, on a clear day, the Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons. There is a smart TV with Netflix, DVD player and a selection of DVDs, board games and books.

On the ground floor there are three bedrooms: two doubles and a twin. The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a freestanding bath and shower cubicle. There is also a shower room with walk-in shower and WC.

The fully equipped kitchen and utility room are next to the dining room, from which doors open onto the terrace and garden. There is garden furniture and a washing line, and guests have sole use of the lockable shed for storing surfboards, wetsuits, bikes and buggies.

Our holiday home is managed by a professional co-host and we offer hotel-standard linen and towels. Guests will be provided with access information for The Little Red House for easy self check-in. We also offer a 24/7 guest support should you need any assistance during your stay.

Other things to note
We prefer week bookings in peak season, but we welcome guests for shorter stays at other times.

Where you’ll be
Mumbles is a popular village in Gower, South Wales, known for its winding lanes lined with colourful fishermen’s cottages, a legacy from a thriving oyster-fishing industry in centuries gone by. Mumbles Lighthouse is a prominent feature, as is the Victorian pier and three generations of lifeboat stations.

Mumbles Road and Newton Road, which leads up to Oystermouth Castle, have plenty of independent boutique shops and bars to explore along with the castle itself. Don't forget to visit the Welsh Love Spoon Gallery and Joes Ice Cream parlour – a national favourite. Towards the pier, the seasonal Gower Seafood Hut operates from its converted horse box on the promenade near Verdis bistro. The Victorian pier café is worth a visit for its all-day breakfasts and self-playing piano, and on through to the amusement arcade and bowling alley.
